Regarding the term 'Gun Nut'
 

When i made the 'Gun Nut' social group the other day, I used that term because I like being flip. But, it got several (i would assume equally lighthearted) comments to the effect of 'I prefer X' In this regard, I firmly believe that the firearms community should co-opt this derogatory euphemism as a friendly phrase when used between members of the community, but treated as the worst of slander when called this from someone not in the fold. This model seems to have worked well for certain demographics..... (there could be a musical group called GNWA, or something:wink:)

ok.....my candy-assed attempt at politely dancing around the reference failed:D.....black ppl can call black ppl 'ni**er', but nobody else can. That's a great deal for them. I propose that 'Gun Nut' could be treated the same.

as an aside, i realize that this is trivial, but i've got insomnia, and im bored right now.

I fully believe that you can never have enough firearms. So yes!!! I am a gun nut.

Don't forget the one that really ticks me off: patriot. How sad that they can and do villianize a word like that.

I'm okay with the term "gun nut." I don't use it much around people who aren't into guns, but with other gun lovers, I do. Whatever we call ourselves will eventually get villianized, but as others said, as long as I'm the one with the guns...

I got rid of all my guns. Good people should not have guns. Guns are for bad people. All the good people should get rid of their guns then we will know who the bad guys are if they keep theirs.

I agree with Percival.....we must de-arm!..
There are laws in place to protect us from bad people...
Guns are bad and do bad things....bullets come out of guns and bullets kill people...They too, are therefore bad...
I trust my government to protect me and if the supreme court says guns are bad...I will believe them...and oh..
